The Mount Maunganui coastline and Tauranga harbour are the ultimate Kiteboarding playgrounds. Long white sandy beaches extend from Mt Maunganui all the way to Maketu. The harbour waters stretch north an south with extensive safe shallow waterways with firm sandy bottoms; perfect for learning and progressing. There are safe Kiteboarding locations for all wind directions.
Learn to Kiteboard with Assault Kiteboarding Centre
Assault's involvement since 1982 instructing Windsurfing and Surfing has given us a vast wealth of experience to draw on. Our Kiteboarding instruction programme developed in 2003 is constantly being refined and modified as the sport and equipment progress.
The programme ensures most people are up and riding after only 4 instruction sessions! Intermediate and advanced sessions tailored to your individual requirements are also available.
Assault Kiteboarding Centre provides specialist school equipment and qualified instructors. Our instructors are IKO (International Kiteboarding Organisation) qualified and very experienced kiteboarders.
Being mobile enables AKC to be at the beach when and where the wind and tides are best, maximizing all opportunities.
AKC's inflatable boat can transport you to and from sand bar and beach locations to suit wind and tide conditions. The boat is always on hand for support and rescue when needed.
